Climate change seems to have an inevitable momentum behind it; the effects of human industrial activity going back 150 years cannot be easily undone. So what role can mere poetry possibly play in relation to the most pressing problem of our age? Since climate cannot be felt immediately by our senses, this literary genre can contribute by bringing it to our attention in fresh ways.
