Our events

Below are some of the events coming up in the Department of English Studies. View our Departmental website for more. Many of our lectures and talks are freely open to the public.

Literature events throughout the North East

The North East hosts a rich array of literary lectures, workshops, conferences, festivals, and readings each month. Each month we compile a newsletter that brings the best literature and book events direct to you. The newsletter is of particular interest to those who study or research English literature in the region.

Enter your email below and we’ll send you a copy at the start of each month. We won’t use your email address for any other purpose.

Organising an event? Spread the word

If you’re organising a literature event in the North East, and think it should be added to our newsletter, please complete the online form. You can also tweet us or reach us via Facebook. The newsletter reaches the region’s five universities, plus hundreds of members of the public, students and researchers.
