Academics (from PhD student to senior staff) in any discipline, and library professionals with an interest in book or library history or practice-based research, are invited to apply for the Bamburgh Library Fellowships. The Bamburgh Library has about 8,500 titles dating from the late 15th to the 19th century.

Thanks to the generous support of the Lord Crewe’s Charity, there are on offer two research fellowships, to be taken up before the end of 2018. The successful fellows will receive access to Durham University’s extensive special collections, as well as to material held at Durham Cathedral and Ushaw College. However, the focus of the proposed research must be the Bamburgh Library collection, held at Palace Green Library. The closing date for applications is 25th May 2018.
