Poetry for Trying Times (Reading, 2nd February)

Poster about reading of poetry of protest

Terza rima against Trump. Ballads against Brexit. Rhymes against racism. Haiku against hate. Iambs against immigration bans. Palinodes against prejudice. Who says poetry makes nothing happen? In turbulent times, come to this one-off, free reading that shows how poetry is relevant to our world today.

There will be a prize awarded for the best limerick about Donald Trump (for good or ill). If you can’t attend in person, post your entry below or via our Facebook event and we will pass it on to be read aloud during the evening.

Starts 19.00 on 2nd February, in Palace Green Library; everyone welcome. This event is organised by the Centre for Poetry and Poetics.
