Mark International Women’s Day 2016 with a free reading to celebrate the life and work of some of the most inspirational women in literature. Come along on 7th March 2016, 18:30, in St Chad’s College Chapel.
This event will celebrate the bicentenary of Charlotte Brontë’s birth, with readings from and commentaries on her ground-breaking, powerful, and influential novels. Works featured will include Jane Eyre and Villette alongside the poetry and prose of her sisters, Emily and Anne Brontë. Readings will also reflect the creative reimaginings inspired by the Brontës’ fiction in the literature of later women writers, such as Sylvia Plath and Jean Rhys. Readers include Professor Michael O’Neill, Dr Jenny Terry, and Dr Sarah Wootton.
Due to anticipated demand for this event, it would be helpful if you could subscribe to our Facebook event if you plan to attend.
