A. E. Housman and Giacomo Leopardi: A Chance Encounter? (Seminar, 4th February)

housmanIn the next seminar in the Centre for Poetry and Poetics research series, Professor Carlo Caruso will explore the links between the modern English poet A.E. Housman, and the early nineteenth-century Italian poet Giacomo Leopardi. All are welcome to the Williams Library, St Chad’s College, on 4th February at 16.45.

Professor Carlo Caruso is Professor in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures. His research interests include comparative literature, with special attention to Anglo-Italian relationships.

The subsequent seminar in the Centre for Poetry and Poetics research seminar series will be on 18th February at 16.45. Dr Sarah Wootton will look at the afterlife of John Keats in biography and biopic.
