Three Generations of Pioneering Women Poets: Tara Bergin, Vona Groarke, Anne Stevenson (Reading, 6th November)

colpitts stickyColpitts Poetry has been producing live readings of poets in Durham since 1975. This year it’s back with an exciting new programme, starting with the chance to hear three pioneering female voices. Come along to Palace Green Library at 20.00 on 6th November; tickets from £3 on the door.

Tara Bergin’s first collection, This is Yarrow was published by Carcanet in 2013; she was named as one of the Next Generation poets in 2014. Vona Groarke’s sixth book, X was described by the New Statesman as an “outstanding collection by a poet at the height of her powers.” The third poet, Anne Stevenson, will need little introduction, having been publishing poetry since the 1950s, and being a regular at Colpitts and around Durham’s poetry scene.
