It’s holiday season, so our English Events newsletter for August is short and sweet. We will add more over the coming month if we spot other events – and please let us know if you missed yours!
The main events this month feature the best of postgraduate research from our region. At the Lit and Phil the Northumbria Summer Speaker series continues with talks on women on television, and British attitudes to migration. Our own Late Summer Lecture series also kicks off. This year’s lectures range from Vikings, to T.S. Eliot, to chocolate in literature. The two lectures in August see Elise Gayraud take an interdisciplinary approach to sound, and Sibyl Adam and Hannah Kershaw explore how Muslim authors tell stories about British life.
