English Events in June 2015

Our English Events newsletter for June 2015 is now available. The newsletter lists a wide variety of literature-related events taking place at Durham University and across the wider North East region. The newsletter will be updated over the coming month as more events are added to external websites.

Events at Durham University this month look back in time, with the fourth annual Norse in the North conference, and forwards, to the Emerging Humanities: Strategies for the Future. Rooted in the politics of the present, speakers from literature and politics consider the links between Terrorism and Affect, while a bit of lighter relief is provided by Helen Mort and the Writing Squad.

Further afield, New Writing North hosts its annual conference for emerging and established writers, on the theme of Do It Yourself. Two writers who have already done it themselves are Val McDermid and Jackie Kay, who will be talking about the short story on 4th June.

This is just a taste of the wide array of events taking place in our region. For full listings and updates, see our newsletter, or find us on Twitter or Facebook.
