Basil Bunting and Northern Poetry: A Celebration (Reading, 2nd March)

CPP_170_webJoin the Centre for Poetry and Poetics for a celebration to mark the occasion of Basil Bunting’s birthday, 2nd March, at 7.30pm.

All are warmly invited to this poetry reading in memory of one of the most significant poets of the twentieth century, Basil Bunting. There will be readings by Eleanor Rosamund Barraclough, Paul Batchelor, Frances Leviston, Michael O’Neill, Vidyan Ravinthiran, Gareth Reeves, and Stephen Regan. The “birthday party” will be held St Cuthbert’s Society SCR, 12 South Bailey, Durham.

Basil Bunting was born and worked in the North East. The Basil Bunting Poetry Archive was established in 1988 and is held in Durham University Library’s Special Collections at Palace Green.
