Affinities: On the Poetry of Robert Frost and Elizabeth Bishop

Affinities AS Lecture PosterThe annual St. Chad’s College Poetry Lecture, delivered by Anne Stevenson, will examine the poetry of Robert Frost and Elizabeth Bishop. The event – to which all are welcome – takes place on 18th March, 18.00 – 19.00, in St. Chad’s College chapel.

Anne Stevenson is an Anglo-American poet who has lived most of her adult life in Great Britain. She is the author of over a dozen volumes of poetry, of some books of essays and literary criticism, of a biography of the American poet Sylvia Plath, Bitter Fame: A Life of Sylvia Plath(1989), and of two critical studies of Elizabeth Bishop.

This lecture is organised by the Centre for Poetry and Poetics and St. Chad’s College. A transcript of her 2013 lecture, “How to Read Poetry,” also organised by the CPP and St. Chad’s, is available here.
