literary dollsThe final programme for the international conference Literary Dolls: The Female Textual Body from the 19th Century to Now is now available. Literary Dolls takes place on 8th March, International Women’s Day.

The conference features three keynote speakers: Professor Jo Phoenix (Durham), Dr Kate MacDonald (Ghent), and Pulitzer-prize-winning author, Jane Smiley. The programme of over thirty papers from scholars around the world covers a diverse range of topics on historical and contemporary gender issues, from representations of women in nineteenth-century periodicals, to the ‘living dolls’ of Royal Ascot today.
