LSLS showcases doctoral and postdoctoral research in English Literature at Durham and Newcastle Universities. The full programme has now been published at the LSLS website, and reflects the diverse and exciting topics currently being explored by the next generation of scholars.
Lectures are held twice, once in Durham and once in Newcastle. The first lecture, to take place on Tuesday 13th August in Newcastle and Wednesday 14th August in Durham, will focus on Dickensian steampunk in Dickens’ overlooked work The Mudfog Papers.
Podcasts of lectures from the 2012 series are available to download now via READ. These include discussions of the morality of beauty, the changing styles of folk music collections, and paranoia in the novels of Nabokov.
