Publicise Your English Event in the North-East

Are you hosting a conference in the region? Do you want to broadcast your call for papers or distribute a programme? Do you know of a public lecture, exhibition, or book festival that may be of interest to our readers?

At the start of every month, READ distributes an North-East English Events newsletter to Durham-based and external subscribers, detailing lectures and activities of interest to those involved in researching, reading and writing about English literature in the region. The newsletter lists activities happening in that particular month. However, we are also pleased to offer a space on READ for organisers to publicise events over the longer term.

If you are running an English-related conference, planning an exhibition, or organising lectures – whether for an academic or a non-academic audience – we can host brief details in our dedicated Events pages on this website. If you would like us to mention details of a conference or workshop intended for a largely academic audience, visit our Academic Conferences and Workshops in the North-East page. For events targeted at a broader audience, visit our Public Events and Lectures in the North-East page. Fill in the form with your details, or email

We can also mention your event to our Facebook and Twitter followers, and will include your activity in our North-East English Events newsletter for the appropriate month.
